Our communities are joining together to spread their love for small local businesses! This includes the fundraiser’s as well.
Spring has not been cancelled at the greenhouse. Delivery dates have not changed, and we will be ready for when your delivery date comes.
Many customers are worried that we will not have the product available to ship once their delivery day comes. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Everything we grow we start from seedlings, plugs or roots that are already currently growing under our care.
The Manitoba Government has stated in THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT (Section 67) under Agriculture and food production (Page 6, #24)."A business that supports the safety of food, including animal and plant health and animal
well-being." that greenhouses are part of the essential services. We are still working hard to make sure that we will be ready for spring.
As a family run business, our staff are like our family. The health and safety of our staff and customers is our number one priority.
We are adhering to the government regulations regarding personal safety.
This means that our doors are temporarily closed to customers that want to browse our products so we can ensure that everyone goes home at the end of the day healthy and happy.
Gardening is a great way to spend time with your family outside and use it as a practical learning. It can be beneficial to your mental health as well by giving you the pride and satisfaction that you grew your own food, or successfully maintained your flowers all summer long.
It is amazing how quickly things can change in the world which is why we have to keep reminding ourselves that spring is still coming.
Mother’s Day is still 6 weeks away and with what is happening now, this is lots of time considering what can happen in just 10 days.
Stay Home, Stay Safe and Stay Healthy

As with anything new, there have been a few questions about how to place a fundraising order on our website. The process is quite simple; often making people think that there must be a step that has been missed. We hope the following guide helps you with placing your order.
Unfortunately we have to ship all fundraiser orders to the group that they were ordered from where they are then distributed to the purchasers. If you prefer to come to the greenhouse, purchase plant cards that can be redeemed at the greenhouse at a time that is convenient to you. Not only will you find the products listed in the fundraiser catalogue, but also hundreds more varieties.
If you currently do not have a group fundraising or know of someone who is, you can look at our map here.
It shows a list along with a map to see which groups are in your area to place an order with, the date of delivery is are also listed here and depending on the groups authorization, pickup and contact information.
Before you click checkout, in the cart, there are three fields. The first is a drop down where you select your delivery method (Fundraiser). The second field asks you to select the group you want to order through. The last field asks for you to input the individual you are supporting, in this field just input the group you chose to place the order through or general supporter.
Once the order is placed you can then contact the group closer to the delivery date for pick up time.
Delivery or Pickup in Store at our on-site retail location,
If you chose to
pick up at the retail, on the cart page select under Delivery
Method either Local Delivery on orders greater than $35 or
Pickup in Store at our retail location. Fill in the remaining fields depending
on chosen method and continue to the checkout.
**Reminder: No proceeds of your order will go to any group if you
choose local delivery or pickup in store at the retail location**
We use an integrated pest management system that begins with keeping the environment clean and starting with clean growing practices. We use biological predators and parasites to seek out any pest outbreaks and deal with them naturally. Pesticides are a control practice of last resort and are never applied to any food related plant. We never use neonicotinoids.
Only Mother Nature knows when the last day of frost will be. Please protect your plants from the cold. Even in a garage or shed the frost can creep in and damage your plants. Bring them into a heated area if the temperature is going to dip. If your plants are already in the ground, cover with blankets.
Plants are living things and require attention. Place in indirect sunlight outside if temperatures allow and water as necessary. A north or east side of a building is best. If frost is predicted, take preventative measures. Be careful not to over water your plants.
In cool and low light conditions, plants require less water. Check the soil moisture level before watering the plant. Over watered plants have the same wilting symptoms as a dry plant, as the roots are beginning to die back from lack of air. Do not leave in a darkened shed or garage for more than 24 hours.
The gift cards never expire and can be used at our greenhouse and at our Booth at the St Norbert Farmer’s Market, and Downtown Winnipeg Market. They cannot be used to pay for products purchased through a fundraiser.
As long as the products don't run out of inventory your cart will remain active as Shopify does not delete them. However this may vary depending on browser settings. If you forget about your cart, we will automatically send you a reminder email after 12 hours of being inactive.
Glenlea Greenhouses satisfaction guarantee: A customer may exchange any of the purchased products within 3 days of delivery, if the goods are not of good health. The return of any product is conditional on the products being returned in their original condition and in the original containers. If the product is purchased through a fundraiser the customer must contact their fundraising group to arrange for the exchange of goods. Glenlea Greenhouses will then arrange for the exchange through the fundraising group. Glenlea Greenhouses will not accept the return of damaged products or products that have not been properly watered or handled, except in cases where products were damaged prior to delivery to the fundraising group or during. The onus of proof of damage prior to delivery resides with the customer.
Please water your plants upon arrival and give them water as required until planting. Once planted continue to water as required. If your plant is looking droopy or dry, check the soil moisture level. Over watering of plants can result in the plants having the same symptoms as a dry plant. Plants are living things and require attention. Glenlea Greenhouses will not accept the return of damaged products due to any environmental conditions such as frost, hail, wildlife, incorrect planting location, incorrect care, lawn mowers, spray drift, pets, or anything that is out of our control.
Please ensure that you select your products carefully as we will not exchange or refund products that have been incorrectly ordered by the customer.
