  • Pastel shades emerge in early summer and continue for weeks, especially if you dead head the spent flowers. Allow to reseed at the end of the season to establish future generations of the plant. It prefers dry locations and is perfect for a rock garden.

  • Red blooms with a dark eye appear in late spring to early summer. The hairy leaves of this poppy make it resistant to both deer and rabbits. The foliage begins to go dormant after blooming, so don't fret, it is not dying. Plant next to a fall blooming perennial such as echinacea that will fill in the area as it goes dormant.
