Welcome to Glenlea Greenhouses

As a family owned business established in 1992, Glenlea Greenhouses began with the production of bedding plants and softwood cuttings of nursery plants. It is our goal to provide our customers with only the best in new varieties and colors. Each year new selections are tested, with only those with proven performance in Winnipeg chosen for production. We bring you Perennials of the Year, All American Selections, Proven Winners, Simply Beautiful Selections and roses developed by Agriculture Canada Research Centres.

Glenlea Greenhouses started with a 1500 square foot greenhouse, and has now expanded to over 37,000 square feet of growing area with the increasing demand for product through wholesale distribution and the introduction of fundraising with schools, sports teams and other small groups. Rob and Sue MacLeod bring you over 40 years of growing experience.

As propagators in nursery stock, cuttings come from true to name stock either as bare root dormant cuttings, 2 1/2 inch plugs, or 3 1/2 inch pot material. We make every effort to locate new products and are willing to propagate for breeders on new selections.

We are members of the Canadian Ornamental Plant Foundation, Landscape Manitoba, and the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association. Both Rob and Sue have taught Continuing Education courses in plant propagation and greenhouse construction and maintenance at the University of Manitoba and to horticulture groups throughout the province to advance the interest in the industry of horticulture. This year the greenhouse offers container courses to enhance our customer's horticulture experience.
